A year goes by so fast and recent memories felt ages ago. A year ago I was living in San Francisco and living the life, good job, great relationship and had an awesome dog companion. But what is life without the challenge?

Long Break

Long time no see.

Took the time to have a long break from work and just enjoyed traveling.

After portland I went to Jacksonville FL to meet with Kathleen and visit her parents.

The sun there can kill but you can't explain the beach experience.

I went back to Portland to enjoy my Brothers birthday. Thomas and Mikey from my Soul Felons family. The only bad thing was that I picked up Strep Throat for the whole weekend and didn't get to party as hard as I wanted to.

Now I'm back home in Bremerton. Its different when your older, everyone you know have a life and you can't just call and meet anymore.

I get back to work next week, its time to get back on the grind.

Side projects are doing really well though. I'm excited to expose it but its still in progress.

Home for the Memorial weekend

There's nothing like being home with family.

The older you get the more you appreciate your parents company.

Being home is like therapy, it stops everything you stress about.

I had the chance to see a few of my close friends. Diana, a talented song writer and guitarist gave us a show last night that consisted with original music she wrote and a mixed cover song.

And, Jeff the drummer of the soon to be world famous band Zebra Mirrors.

They are a great example of doing what they love to do, staying positive and enjoying their passion.

Its like what they say "Just do it"

I woke this morning and thought... YES! I get to sleep in till I work at 1pm.

Got my Coffee and had extra 15 minutes to go webcrazy. I called the store to let them know I'll be there in 10 minutes. Than I found out I didn't have to work until 530pm. So with this extra time I decided to play with iMovie. Here's a short clip.

I didn't like what I ate today, felt like I just ordered sh*t. It was Buffalo Wings and some nachos.

Not good for my stomach... and health!

My Homie Jerome went back to San Jose, he was supporting the Portland store for a few weeks with me. Good guy.

Woke up late and got ready late. The best part is having time to go to the coffee shop and get some free WiFi.

Portland's looking better everyday, the weather's just blasting sun and it really affects people's attitude.

Work Update: By May 27th I'll be leaving the Washington Square store. My official store I'll be working at will be in Seattle in Pacific Place. FYI, I'll only be a part time member. Meaning more time for me and my path to future projects.

Hi...

Had the chance to check out the Nike Employee store here in Beaverton, Or.

Not bad, a lot of shoes with awesome deals. The thing is that most of the stuff I wanted weren't there. Example: Huarache LE, Pegasus, Air Max 180 or some ACGs.

No matter what I'll still get some type of Air Max. Air Max 1 was never my favorite but this color felt right for the season.

I guess Converse is with Nike, I got some Jack Parcell's.

Big Moves

This year's been keeping me busy.

It's been a while since I've updated this blog (everyone says that).

First week of April I moved out of San Francisco. My girlfriend and I did the whole goodbye process. It's always tough to say goodbye but for both of us it's more "I'll see you later".

We drove up to Washington and dropped off my things at my house. Kathleen had little amount of time to see her old friends from Bremerton. The next day we drove east to Chicago to bring her, Rocky and their stuff to their new place.

The drive was long, very very long. Don't ever think of driving cross country. I think we almost died from driving up the mountains, Rocky just liked the scenery.

I was happy to see Katheen's cousins again. We finally had time to see the City during the day... highlights were, seeing Vince Vaughn, Seeing the Bean and Sear's Building.

It's a great place but I'm not sure if I'd ever move there. Too much snow during winter.

Kat's new apartment is nice, out in the hood but it should be fine with Rocky around.

I flew back home and felt great, seeing old friends and setting a goal to push on my future business. I can't wait to get started.

By the time I got comfortable my old job called to see if I can help a store in Portland, since I have plenty of time now I decided to join the company again.

It's good to help when asked.

Now I'm here in Portland until the 27th.

Thank you to Thomas and Domanique for keeping me company while I'm here.

My Mom hurt her self (long story) so I'll be to visit her soon.

As of right now I just invested on a new Macbook Pro and it's awesome... I can't wait to get back on my "GRIND"

That word is almost annoying as "SWAG"

The Meaning of HELM

I never really explained the meaning of HELM in detail till now.
There's so many meaning to the word and what the definition is, we all now that its a steering wheel for a ship or a boat or whichever represents control. For myself I see HELM as my life, I take my own turns but no matter what I wont stop. I just go and see where it leads me. I've discovered that re-using old materials and changing their look and meaning can turn the old into new. Marking it with my symbol represents what I've controlled. There's no limit to where life takes me, I am what I am and my ships out to sail. Jump on board if choose to be part of my crew.

Thank you to my lovely dog Rocky for chewing up my very first self made selvage denim HELM wallet. But last night I decided to distroy a pair I rarely wear and make a new 1 of 8 July Helm Wallet. I'll be sure to post more in the future.

Random thought: I've lost intrest of music this year, HIPHOP has lost its meaning this year by not producing amazing music as it did in the 90's and late 2000's. I can't wait for time to repeat itself so that old school HIPHOP can dominate as it did before. Maybe I've been listening to so much radio and they just play bad trendy dance music.

New Keyboard

Horrible photo but a great new keyboard.
when i purchased my Mac 3 years ago I thought that having a wireless bluetooth key board would be awesome. 40,485 AA Batteries later I thought it'd be time to get a new board with a cord. Saves more money and the new board looks and feels better. took me a while to get use to but its not as heavy and stress free typing. $49 dollars from the apple store was a great deal.

Next purchase would be that damn iPad everyone has, but I'll wait till they add the camera. =)
